Festival Update ~ 8th April 2013

Hi Folks,

Unfortunately I've been unable to find a suitable replacement venue.

As a result the 2013 Bristol Healthy Living Festival is now formally cancelled.

I am so grateful to all the folks that contacted me with a view to taking part - it's great to know that there is so much wonderful stuff going on in Bristol.

This facebook page, and the website - www.bristolhealthylivingfestival.co.uk will remain live for a short while longer.

Stephen Russell (The Barefoot Doctor) has said that he would still love to arrange a seperate BigOm event in Bristol - and this is something I'm still keen to help make happen - so keep your eye's peeled :o)

With Love Mark

Festival Update ~ 1st February 2013

Hi All,

Apologies for the prolonged radio silence, but I wanted to try and have good news for you when I emailed.

Just before Christmas I became aware that there may be issues with my booking of the Creative Common venue - at the beginning of January I had a meeting with their events organisers, to be told that at present Creative Common are unable to confirm, or honour any bookings - and they are now considering all previous arrangements as provisional.

Yesterday I received a formal letter, confirming this to be the case - which essentially makes the festival venue-less - they can't guarantee that the tent will be available on the date previously agreed.

I have taken the time since the beginning of January to try and find an alternative, perhaps even better venue - but at the moment I have been unsuccessful - but I'm not giving up yet - this festival is really important to me - and there are so many amazing people, organisations and charities on-board that I don't want to let down.

This is compounded slightly by the fact that the the event was designed to be not for profit - with the evening music and dance party heavily subsiding the venue and daytime costs.  The evening part of the festival has now be postponed and this means any new venue needs to be no-cost/low-cost in order to be viable.  If you have any suggestions please do let me know.  So far I have had discussions with Cabot Circus, but they can't host the festival this year and am in the process of contacting the M-Shed and the Cathedral.  Ideally the venue needs to be central, with good footfall and road access for the various charities roadshow trucks/buses as well as the circus rig and Fareshare festival food tent.

I will be placing an update on the festivals website shortly and also updating the facebook page.

I hope that you will all be happy to bear with me whilst I work to find us all a new home.

With my very best regards

Mark :)
